Yikon Genomics Drives Next Phase of APAC IVF Support from Malaysian Hub

Regional base is designed to help clinics and laboratory teams improve quality control, workflow consistency and access to technical expertise

Yikon Genomics is strengthening support for IVF partners across Asia-Pacific through its Malaysia-based laboratory, which has served as a regional reference and demonstration hub since opening in November 2025.

Established to meet growing demand across Southeast Asia, the facility enables faster turnaround time, more consistent laboratory standards and closer technical collaboration with IVF clinics and embryology laboratories.

By providing a regional base for workflow validation, live demonstrations, quality benchmarking and hands-on training, the Malaysia-based laboratory enables partners to improve consistency, operational efficiency and access to timely technical support. Moreover, it allows Yikon to work closely with IVF clinics and laboratory teams to adapt best practices to local operating environments while maintaining alignment with international quality standards.

Malaysia is the hub due to its stable clinical sample logistics environment, supported by an established regulatory framework and import permit system. This facilitates smoother cross-border sample handling while maintaining strict compliance and temperature control requirements. The location also enables Yikon to serve IVF partners across Southeast Asia more efficiently, making technical exchange, troubleshooting and training more accessible across the region.

Dr. David Wong Chee Ern, Lab Manager, Yikon Genomics Malaysia, said: “Our Malaysia laboratory plays an important role in strengthening how we support IVF partners across Southeast Asia. By bringing training, workflow validation and technical collaboration closer to the region’s clinics and embryology laboratories, we are able to work more closely with partners to improve consistency, strengthen quality standards and respond more quickly to operational needs. As demand for advanced embryo screening and laboratory standardisation continues to grow, having a regional hub allows us to support partners more effectively while maintaining alignment with international best practices.”

In addition to strengthening regional laboratory support, Yikon Genomics is preparing for the Q2 2026 rollout of ESSENCE™/EMT™. This is a comprehensive solution designed to provide clinicians with a more integrated assessment of endometrial receptivity and microbiome composition. By combining these insights, the test aims to help clinicians better evaluate whether the endometrial environment is biologically prepared to support embryo implantation, an important consideration in embryo transfer planning and overall IVF treatment outcomes.

Yikon is introducing ESSENCE™/EMT™ through pilot collaborations, technical validation programmes and structured training for clinicians and laboratory teams, supported by educational initiatives such as webinars and workshops. The phased rollout reflects the company’s broader strategy to support not only laboratory performance, but also deeper clinical understanding and application of emerging reproductive technologies.

Yikon will also highlight its regional strategy at PGDIS 2026 in Shanghai, where it will host the Yikonnect workshop, “Multi-Omics Insight in Embryo Screening and Endometrium Assessment.” The session will bring together clinicians, embryologists and laboratory professionals to explore how multi-omics approaches can support more informed embryo screening and endometrial assessment, while reinforcing Yikon’s commitment to scientific exchange, partner education and collaboration with the reproductive medicine community across Asia-Pacific.

Dr Sijia Lu, CEO and Founder, Yikon Genomics, said: “Our focus is to support partners in strengthening both laboratory capability and clinical confidence through robust quality systems, training and scientific collaboration. The Malaysia laboratory is an important part of that long-term commitment, enabling us to work more closely with partners across APAC as reproductive technologies continue to evolve.”
