IGS English endeavours to address ongoing language proficiency problems faced. The Reading Programme provides training for the kids to appreciate and comprehend between the lines amidst their efforts to analyse stories discussed in class sessions. While in Creative Writing, the kids are nurtured to emerge as keen and capable writers, given opportunities to write with creativity, passion and interest. The result – compelling essays written with excellent grammar with a fluent flair for words, thus fulfilling the ultimate aim of IGS English’s Creative Writing programme. All while the children maintain individual writing styles and interesting quality to captivate readers.
At IGS English, every aspect and facet of the language is addressed including vocabulary, sentence structure and context usages. No ‘run-of-the-mill’ lessons are conducted, and each lesson will be made inspiring. Painstaking coaching is offered, from the English Language introductory level (for beginners/ very young age group) to qualifying for internationally renowned examinations including the Integrated Skills in English (ISE) and the Graded Exam in Spoken English (GESE) from Trinity College, London. On the Public Speaking front, grooming children from young is deemed necessary to ensure that our future leaders would be dynamic, confident and outspoken with a proficiency in English. At IGS English, interactive courses for the kids are designed to dispel shyness in public speaking, with fun activities such as video recording assignments, presentations, voice intonations, proper pronunciations, skilful story-telling, role-playing and honing public speaking skills. Furthermore, the kids are also guided on voice projection, eye contact, body language/gestures and reading the audience. Thus, IGS English students have emerged as stellar speakers, able to debate convincingly and hold livelier conversations.
