Since its establishment in 2012, the Paediatric and Congenital Heart Centre (PCHC) at IJN has been a stalwart in paediatric and congenital heart care. With a track record of treating over 65,000 paediatric patients, PCHC stands at the forefront of providing advanced cardiac catheterisation procedures for children and individuals with congenital heart conditions. Led by a team of highly skilled paediatric cardiologists who remain dedicated to delivering exemplary care, PCHC maintains unwavering standards, ensuring delivery of optimal care. Their ability to offer comprehensive care for congenital heart cases is a testament to the seamless collaboration across divisions and enhanced communication within their team. Over the past five years, PCHC has expanded outpatient services to include specialised clinics addressing various conditions, from the adult congenital heart diseases to pulmonary hypertension.
By utilising state-of-the-art imaging techniques, PCHC provides advanced outpatient examinations with precision diagnostic capabilities. Handling over half of the nation’s congenital heart disease cases from 2021-2023, PCHC prioritises staff education and upholds international quality standards. The introduction of groundbreaking procedures like the Melody Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Programme and innovative services such as 3D Printing further exemplify their commitment to pushing the boundaries in paediatric cardiology. Today, the PCHC continues to champion patient support through initiatives like the Nadi PCHC, where vital support is provided to children with heart disease and their families, enriching their developmental journey.
